Someone got sick of people slamming doors into walls, so they did the only thing anyone would do: they pulled the head off a toilet plunger and used it to build an improvised doorstop by attaching it to the wall. Strangely, the cost of this remedy comes out to be more than the cost of a doorstop.

Doorstops are about half the price of plungers, which are about $4. Incorporating a barrier is vital, as repainting a wall is also an expensive endeavor. The DIY doorstop alternative wasn’t a bad idea until they could come up with a less tacky, more permanent substitute, barring making the door really hefty.
