The Cambridge Emerald Necklace coordinates with the Cambridge Emerald Parure. The Necklace was created by Garrard back in 1921, and it was done in an Art Deco style. The Three Strand Pearl Necklace is actually one of three identical pieces. She received the first Necklace as a gift from her father. She loved it so much, she had a second, identical copy made. This third piece differed from the other two because it had a diamond clasp, as it was a gift from the Emir of Qatar for Her Majesty’s 1953 coronation.

Prince Gustaf Adolf was supposed to marry Princess Margaret’s sister, Patricia. However, Prince Adolf fell in love with Princess Margaret immediately and knew he couldn’t marry anyone but her. Princess Margaret was married in the Tiara, but she was not buried in it, though she requested to be buried in her wedding garb upon her death. Perhaps the Swedish royals felt the Khedive Tiara was too beautiful to hide in a grave. Years later, Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark would wear the Tiara.
90. The Vladimir Tiara
Worn By: Queen Elizabeth II
Owned Since: 1909
Estimated Value: $1.051 million*
This is the most expensive Tiara in the Royal Collection. The Grand Duchess Vladimir Tiara spent many years as the rightful property of Russia. Duchess Vladimir Romanov commissioned the Tiara from the Court Jeweler, Bolin before her exile. It is extremely difficult to get any jewels from the Romanov vaults, so the fact that the Vladimir Tiara wound up in Queen Elizabeth’s hands is unusual.
A British officer, disguised as an old woman, snuck into the Romanov Palace at night and stole the Vladimir Tiara. He smuggled it to London, where The Grand Duchess was exiled. After her death, the Tiara was auctioned off, and the Royal Family bought it immediately.
