The bridge is absolutely not appropriate for people who are afraid of heights because it is perched atop a steep mountain. To get there, you have to ride a cable car 1,900 feet up the mountain. The Vallee Blanche Cable Car travels across the mountain range between Pointe Helbronner and Aiguille du Midi.
