The $3.2 million hoard included silver coins, hacksilver, Carolingian and English jewelry, and ingots. It was one of the biggest Viking silver hoards ever discovered. The Vikings of Eastern England are thought to have sunk the treasure between 903 and 910 after being expelled from Dublin, as evidenced by the majority of the coins.
