Found Year: 1612–1613
Who Found It: Not Sure
Where: Camelopardalis
While it may not seem feasible, two stars can actually contact. MY Camelopardalis is a binary system consisting of two hot blue O-type stars that are in contact with one another while orbiting a shared point. The envelope that encloses a binary star system is shared by both stars.

The brightest star in the Alicante 1 open cluster, MY Camelopardalis, is thought to be on the verge of merging into a single supermassive giant. There will likely be a tremendous energy burst when this occurs.
