A neutron star is an extremely dense object that is created when a normal star dies. The Infrared Neutron Star does not often emit radio waves or X-rays. A neutron star 800 light-years from Earth was found by scientists to be generating a continuous stream of infrared radiation in September 2018.

Scientists think that following the explosion, the disc of material that initially formed the neutron star re-assembled itself around the star, explaining the phenomenon. But not enough research has been done on the subject up to this point.
