3. A Neutrino That Leads
Found Year: 2017.
The IceCube Neutrino Observatory made the discovery.
Where: Earth
A solitary, high-energy neutrino impacted Earth on September 22, 2017. Scientists at the IceCube Neutrino Observatory in Antarctica observe this kind of event at least once a month, so in and of itself, it’s not that strange.

But this neutrino was unique because it carried enough information about its origin when it reached Earth for astronomers to be able to focus their telescopes in that direction. They deduced that 4 billion years ago, a supermassive black hole located in the centre of a galaxy hurled it towards Earth.
