15. Fomalhaut B

Found Year: 2008.
It was discovered by Paul Kalas.
Place: Austrinus Piscis a constellation
One of the earliest exoplanets to be found was Fomalhaut b, which was also one of the first to go undetected. This candidate planet, sometimes known as Dagon, vanished in 2020. This implies that there was no planet at all for this planet. Alternatively, it might have been an expanding cloud of dust created by the collision of two massive icy bodies.

Fomalhaut b, which Paul Kalas discovered in 2008, had an orbital period of 1,700 years. It was identified by direct imaging, and its location was around 25 light years away, within the Piscis Austrinus Constellation, prior to its disappearance.
