In essence, the Dyson Sphere is a massive structure that gathers star energy. The Dyson Sphere is currently only a theory. In theory, Olaf Stapledon created this megastructure for his 1937 science fiction book Star Maker, but scientist Freeman Dyson expanded on Stapledon’s concept in 1960.

In the Dyson Structure thought experiment, a megastructure that completely encloses a star and captures a significant portion of its solar output is imagined. Although the Dyson Sphere is theoretically feasible, human engineering capabilities currently far beyond its reach. We lack the resources required to acquire, transmit, and maintain a full Dyson system. Perhaps in the future.
