The International Journal of Economist Intelligence Unit ranked a number of global cities according to their standard of living. The quality of life has declined in eleven Western European cities, according to the survey.

What can we say about the remaining nations? Poverty, terrorism, and political unrest all combine to render many cities entirely uninhabitable. A list of nine towns that are unfit for human habitation can be found below.

9. Cameroon’s Douala.

Among the locations in this ranking are numerous cities in Africa. The city received enough marks in areas including infrastructure, education, health, and the environment. Because of corruption, it is also the most costly city in Africa.

8. Zimbabwe’s Harare.

With absolutely no access to medicine, this is one of the worst cities in which to live. There are also uncontrollably violent riots. The majority of the 1.6 million people living in Harare, the nation’s largest city, are famished. In the majority of the city, there is no electricity, water, or sewage system, nor is there road maintenance or waste disposal.

7. Algeria’s Algiers.

The city received very low scores in every category, including education, healthcare, and security. Algeria’s capital is all but destroyed. Poverty, hunger, and complete joblessness are all present.

6. Pakistan’s Karachi.

One of the biggest cities in the world, this port metropolis in southern Pakistan is home to more than 13 million people. Karachi ranks lowest among cities when it comes to livability.

5. In Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby.

Because of its lack of stability, the capital of Papua New Guinea is included in the list of the five worst cities in the world. Protests in public are unabated. Port Moresby is home to the Papuans, who speak seven hundred different languages and dialects. But there is absolutely no such thing as “medicine” in this place.

4. Bangladesh’s Dhaka.

The population of Bangladesh’s capital is 16.6 million! The fact that there are nearly daily terrorist attacks in this city is the reason it ranks so low. Aside from that, Dhaka ranks lowest among the cities for the development of its infrastructure.

3. Nigeria’s Lagos city.

Situated on the islands in the Atlantic Ocean, the city has a port. There are almost 13 million people living in Lagos. Lagos is a particularly risky place to live since “Boko Haram” is a terrorist organisation that frequently plans attacks there.

2. Libya’s Tripoli.

Since 2011, the Libyan capital has served as a battlefield for Gaddafi’s army and rebel allies. The city’s standard of living was weakened by this.

1. Syria’s Damascus.

It’s the world’s most dangerous city to live in. The capital of Syria is still the epicentre of military activity, and there is virtually little stability. All facets of the city’s infrastructure, health, and educational systems are unstable as a result of the conflict in other parts of the city.
