8. The Fringe Tiara of Queen Mary

Donn by: Lady Anne
Been in possession since 1919
Value Approximation: $5 million
Given its amazing and lengthy history, the Queen Mary Fringe Tiara’s $5 million valuation makes sense. The exquisite diamond gem was originally a necklace that Queen Mary inherited from Queen Victoria. Mary finally had a tiara made out of it.

The ornate headdress, which was constructed of gold, silver, and diamonds, was most frequently worn by Princess Anne, but Queen Elizabeth II also wore it on her wedding day to Prince Philip. On the morning of the wedding, the tiara broke, so the Queen Mother said, “We have two hours and there are other tiaras,” in a cool manner.
Princess Anne wore the tiara at her 1973 wedding to Captain Mark Phillips, following in her mother’s footsteps. Even though the marriage ended in 1989, images of Anne in the diadem will always be preserved in historical records.
