King Edward VII had the diamond fashioned into a 94.4 carat stone, which he gave to his wife after receiving it. Later, Queen Elizabeth received it from Queen Mary, and she affectionately calls it the “Granny’s Chips” brooch.
“Grandma’s Chips” would more likely be associated with dinner in the rest of Britain, not a massive diamond with a $50 million value. This is the ultimate indication that Her Majesty is living a better life than the majority of the populace.
