Maybe Diana’s fondness for pearls came from Queen Elizabeth II, who has long had a thing for them. Sometime in the 1970s, Her Majesty had the unique four-row pearl necklace commissioned. Despite not being the most costly item in Liz’s collection, it has a fascinating past.

Diana owned it for a number of times before Kate Middleton took it over. It was evident in 2017 when the Duchess was seen wearing it at the Queen and Prince Philip’s 70th anniversary celebration at Windsor Castle that accessories like this are truly timeless.
It has been a while since the Queen herself was spotted donning it. Liz might be overchoiced or perhaps she doesn’t want to be reminded of her deceased daughter-in-law. The Queen, after all, is a pearl lady.
