Not Your Every Day House Pet

Not every animal that passes through the clinic’s front desk is a standard house pet. Surprised to find she was tending to a very unique patient—a lion cub—a vet’s son and wife walked in to see her mum at work. Like a dog or cat, the cub seemed more focused on playing with the toys on the property than on mingling with people.

Not often do veterans get to handle an actual wild animal, much less a cute lion cub like Simba from The Lion King.

He’s Just Misunderstood

With the correct level of socialisation, care, and patience, skunks can make amazing house pets despite everything we have been taught about them. This veterinarian clearly knew this since he displayed no anxiety about the famous scent they have developed. Actually, they only emit certain scents in response to threat as a kind of protection or deterrent.

Skunks are absolutely beautiful and guaranteed to make any house they live in happy, so they are also wonderful domestic pets.

Cuddles Are the Best Post-Op Medicine

When an animal crate’s occupant is as beautiful as this dog, it can be difficult for a veterinarian to resist getting inside and snatching an afternoon sleep with their patient. This pooch was recovering from surgery and felt a little self-conscious when his carer chose to snooze alongside him. ‘We truly take post-op care seriously at my job,’ they said humorously captioning the picture. The best medicine is a hug!”

Something tells us the vet would leap at the chance without thinking twice if it were feasible for her to sleep there overnight!
