Reason: Preserving the young royals’ privacy and reducing media attention
Graduation ceremonies or significant academic achievements are exceptions.
Reading is a universal rite of passage, and no one is exempt from it—royals included. The Royal Family is more private than most pupils, who tend to discuss their highs and lows in school openly. The goal is to shield the young royals from the media’s relentless scrutiny and ensure their educational experience is as typical as possible.

By keeping scholarly pursuits under wraps, the monarchy protects its younger members from unwarranted pressure and media scrutiny. There must be a careful balance struck between the celebration of academic accomplishments, such as at graduation ceremonies, and the privacy of the nuances of daily school life.
