The start of “God Save the Queen” is not only a signal for the members of the Royal Family to remain motionless and silent, but also for all Brits. In particular, this is crucial for the royals. Their silence is a sign of respect, devotion, and dedication to the principles the song upholds.

Additionally, it makes a clear point about how important national identity and solidarity are. Nonetheless, it makes sense to make accommodations for small children who might not fully appreciate the seriousness of the anthem. In the same way, visitors, or those who do not know the anthem, may be excused for their ignorance.
