3. Limitations on leisure-time activities

Exceptions include activities on private estates or anonymous participation.
There’s more to being royal than tiaras and state dinners. Members of the royal family have interests and hobbies they like to pursue in their spare time, just like everyone else. There are limitations, though. These restrictions are primarily due to two factors: safety concerns and a desire to avoid controversy.

Participating in high-risk actions or ones that could draw unfavourable attention puts one’s reputation as well as the monarchy in danger. However, royals have desires and passions just like everyone else. Sometimes they indulge in their favourite activities in the privacy of private estates or through involvement that remains anonymous.
