Most people in the modern digital world are attracted to their devices, constantly switching between apps. However, the royal family abstains from their own technological excesses. This is a security precaution, not just about stepping away from the digital world. There is less likelihood of security lapses or leaks when companies disclose less information online.

Additionally, using electronics all the time could come across as distant or uninterested in public. For the royals, it’s not all analogue, though. They’ve become more comfortable using official social media platforms to engage with the public.
