We all have at least one pair of old, unworn shoes stashed away in the closet; let’s face it. Although you might donate them to Goodwill, you could also use them as an intriguing garden accent.

Although it may not seem “normal” to line an old boot with a waterproof liner, fill it with compost, and then plant it, these sole-ful planters can look really good if given the chance. It also functions as self-watering if you submerge the lace in water. Is there anything greener than that?
