This picture looks nearly animated, as if it were pulled from a Disney film in which the adorable young princess is being held captive and has no means to escape. However, the dynamic castle in this picture is actually the renowned French monastery Mont Saint Michel, which is obscured by a dismal mist in the morning.

With good reason, this amazing photo took home the grand prize in the 2018 Skypixel Contest. This photo is very amazing due to the historically significant architecture combined with the dramatic effects of the fog and clouds.
