The Mowag Tornado was designed for the Army of Switzerland, but it was never put into serial production. The Mowag Motor Car Factory in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland, produced the armored infantry fighting vehicle known as the Tornado, which is presently on display at the Schweizerisches Militarmuseum Full.

In 1980, it was manufactured, and only one was constructed. It bears a passing resemblance to the Soviet BMP-1 vehicle, which was far more widely used than the Tornado. The OERLIKON GBD COA is the Tornado’s primary armament—not that it ever utilized it. Two submachine guns and a four-by-76mm rocket launcher make up its supplementary weaponry.
