Masina de Lupta a Vanatorilor de Munte is known as MLVM in Romanian. The elite mountain troops, or vanatori de munte, of the Romanian Army are intended to use this armored personnel carrier as an IFV. Because of its light armor and armament, the MLVM is officially booked as a tracked personnel carrier, although it has also been employed as an IFV.

The MLVM can accommodate seven people and only needs two crew members. The armor of the tank protects it from 7.62mm bullets.
