Five people were needed to operate the turreted 6×6 Deerhound: a commander, loader, gunner, co-driver, and driver. The T17’s primary weapon was a 37mm Gun M6, and it shared the same turret as the M3 Lee tank. Two x.30 M1919s served as its supplementary armament.
