Mehmet Aslan’s “Carpet Field” received a “Highly Commended” rating in the Drone Awards’ “People Category.” The image shows Turkish fields covered in countless numbers of variously colored rugs that ranged in size and shape. According to photographer Aslan, fifteen or so laborers were dozing off on the rugs, perhaps from a hard day’s work.

To bring out various colors, the rug artisans put their creations out in the sun. The rugs’ coloring is enhanced and changed by natural light. Although it’s unclear which drone Aslan prefers, the Hubsan Zino Pro would work well for taking a detailed, panoramic photo like this one from a high height.
