8.”Do Not Touch the Puffy Stickers”

You would be aware that there were two types of stickers if you were a sticker-loving 90s child. There were the usual, flat stickers. And then the most amazing stickers in the country arrived here. Indeed, we are referring to those 3D puffable stickers. Regarding such stickers, we did not play about. Though they were our fave, we couldn’t just put them anyplace! Their posture has to be ideal and thoroughly considered.
Of fact, most of the fluffy stickers we laid down in the 1990s are now found on textbooks we disposed of years ago. Still, that is not the main point. They were quite dear to our hearts at the time. For 90s children, puffy stickers were a serious business. These were valuable items that needed thought before usage, not only decorations.
Choosing where to put a fluffy sticker felt almost ritualistic. You would consider the ideal location for days, even weeks. Would it fit on your diary? What is your pencil case like? Perhaps, on your school binder, if you were especially bold? The pressure was great as once applied, these stickers were almost impossible to remove without damage – to the area they covered as well as the sticker itself.
Trading fluffy stickers developed become a playground economy unto itself. The rarest designs, such as glittering dolphins or holographic unicorns, might fetch a good price in exchange. Some children even preserved their most prized fluffy stickers like fine art by keeping them in separate albums rather than allowing them to be glued down. Running your fingers over these raised stickers was an unparalleled tactile pleasure—a basic delight not possible in the digital age of today. Though they look small today, these fluffy stickers were a major component of 90s youth culture and symbolized creativity, prestige, and the value we placed on the small pleasures in life.
