3. The Not So Innocent Sofa

Hopefully, nobody elected to purchase this sofa on their own will and display it in their house for decoration. It is definitely not kid-friendly, and it even approaches PG-13 content in terms of adverse effect. This oddly shaped sofa’s sole plausible (suitable) use would be perhaps in a rentable option for bachelor parties or a private area at a club. Although inventive, the design begs doubts regarding taste and appropriateness in furniture design. Though the execution falls significantly short, perhaps the creators sought to inspire thought or start a discussion. Perhaps the only way to cover the not-so-innocent innuendos this sofa offers is to arrange plenty of pillows. This scenario reflects a larger tendency in design whereby shock value sometimes transcends utility. Maybe if they choose another colour, the picture wouldn’t be as vivid, which would let the work to merge more naturally into a range of environments without attracting unwelcome attention.
