Northrop Grumman and BAE Systems are involved with Lockheed in this initiative, which is expected to cost $1.196 trillion by 2077. The aircraft is an X-35 derivative.
NATO and the US’s close allies, the UK, Australia, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, and Italy, are providing partial funding for the project. There are three main models of Lightning: F-35A, F-35B, and F-35C.
