The M1117 Guardian, commonly known as an ASV (Armored Security Vehicle), has a range of 475 miles at fifty miles per hour. Textron Marine & Land Systems manufactures the IBD Modular Expandable Armor System used on the Guardian. The U.S. Military Police employ it, and it has been in use since the late 1990s.

It is more than just a cruiser because it has a machine gun. Its height is 8’5″ and its length is around twenty feet. Five persons are needed to run the Guardian. It is propelled by a 260 horsepower Cummins 6CTA8.3 engine.
The M1117 Armored Security Vehicle has a direct fire support variant. A larger weapons system on the same chassis became more and more in demand in the early 2010s. This would give the M1117 anti-tank and fire support capabilities. Textron released this enhanced and upgraded M1117 on October 22, 2013.
