The United States Capitol Visitor Center (CVC), a subterranean extension of the United States Capitol Complex, is situated between 1st Street East and the well-known Capitol edifice. This well-liked tourist destination has space for up to 4,000 people and acts as an extension of the US Congress.

However, this building is far from modest: it cost an astounding $621 million and included more than 580,000 square feet of space beneath the three stories. This complex welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, and activists find it to be a popular destination for political tourism.
