Estimated Current Value: $200 million* Disappeared Year: 1941
The Year Found: 2011
For two key reasons, the SS Gairsoppa is probably one of the most valuable wrecks ever found beneath the seas. When the Nazis learned that the ship was carrying more than $190 million from India to the British during World War II, they moved quickly to assault her and successfully sent it to Davy Jones’ Locker in 1941.
