Lilongwe, Malawi’s Maula Prison


There is very little space for movement at the Maula prison. 2015 saw the jamming of almost 200 people into a jail designed to hold 60. In addition to sharing a single restroom with 120 inmates and a single water tap with 900 others, prisoners are only fed once a day.
