13. No one-on-one interviews
Reason: To maintain narrative control and safeguard the monarchy’s reputation and privacy.
An exception would be the official interviews that the palace arranges.
Many people find it strange that members of the Royal Family are typically prohibited from doing in-person interviews in this day and age of immediate information and personal branding. This unwritten norm is in place to protect the family’s privacy and prevent any inadvertent remarks that could be misconstrued as official royal positions on matters political or controversial.

Every royal statement has the potential to have national and global ramifications. But in an effort to utilize their power for good, a few younger royals have recently participated in interviews that highlight their humanitarian endeavors or mental health awareness. They nevertheless exercise caution to make sure they don’t cross the thin line between their royal duties and personal disclosure.
