The Boeing 707 provided the basis for the development of the Boeing E-3 Sentry, often known as the AWACS, an early warning and control aircraft. In all weather conditions, this aircraft can offer communications, control, command, and surveillance.In addition to the RAF, FF, RSAF, and NATO, it was supplied by Boeing to the USAF.

The spinning radar dome on the Sentry, which is situated directly above the fuselage of the aircraft, makes it special. There were 68 constructed during the 1977–1992 production period. The price per unit is $270 million. Even though production may have stopped decades ago, it is still in operation.
