The Pilatus PC-9 served as the basis for the Beechcraft T-6 Texan, which was constructed as a trainer aircraft. It has since taken the place of the T-34C Turbo Mentor and the Cessna T-37B Tweet. The USAF now trains novice pilots on the T-6A. Additionally, it’s utilised for Combat Systems Officer (CSO) training.

The T-6 Texan, manufactured by Raytheon Technologies, a Textron Aviation subsidiary, is also used for training pilots from the Greek and Israeli Air Forces, as well as NFOs and Navy and Marines. The Texan has been dubbed “Efroni” by the Israeli Air Force.
