At a cost of between $73.5 and $80 million, the Boeing 757 was used to develop the C-32. High-profile US officials, including the First Lady, the Secretary of State, and the Vice President, have flown on the C-32 military transport aircraft. The Boeing Co. C-32 is referred to as “Air Force Two” when the vice president is aboard.

Some members of the U.S. Cabinet and leaders of Congress are permitted to fly on the C-32 on very rare occasions. Since its introduction, the C-32 has furthermore served as Air Force One in the event that the 747 jumbo plane is unavailable for use.
