1.Airport International de Denver

This gorgeous tipi home nestled against a mountain range appears to be far from the US, yet it is really located near Denver. A truly breathtaking sight, it appears more like a secluded town than a man-made structure (which it is, designed by architect Curtis Fentress). Actually, the material is white Teflon-coated fiber glass designed to resemble a mountain range. Trippy.
2. Spain’s Madrid-Barajas Airport

This grand and colorful airport seems more epic than a museum because of the integrated skylight diffusers! This airport would be a delight to visit rather than a chore because of the contrast between the undulating and austere architecture inside the terminals and the open, natural light!
3. The airport in Marrakesh, Morocco

It’s hard to disagree that this airport has been compared to a massive, sugar-filled cake. The lace-like patterns actually mimic the mosaic patterns used in Islamic construction, and they also allow in a lot of lovely light. It accommodates 4 million travelers annually, and its enormous size and stunning design make it the ideal location for a selfie.
4. New Zealand’s Wellington International Airport

The moniker “the rock” refers to a massive wooden structure that was influenced by fabled sea monsters. That’s really cool; the outside features copper plates that, in the words of the Guardian, “reflect light like water on stones” and are modeled after cliffs. In addition, they prefer ramps to stairs or escalators! inclusive while maintaining the marine theme. We enjoy.
5. The international airport in Kuala Lumpur

The ceiling of this Malaysian airport is decorated with spotlights and is made of tapering beams and wooden slats. Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa created it, and it appears to be a wonderfully tranquil place to meander through. Hyperbolic paraboloids (surreal domes) are supported in international departures by tapering columns, giving the area a simple yet refined appearance.
6. Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport

Concourse C and Concourse B are connected by a bizarre neon-lit tunnel beneath the tarmac that resembles a futuristic rainbow skating rink from “A.I.” or something. Michael Hayden, a Canadian artist, created it, and even if you’re having a bad day, seeing it will make you happy.
7. Mumbai, India’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport

With its arching white roof and colorful honeycomb-shaped pillars that support the structure, this futuristic structure resembles a castle more than an airport. It is infamous for Terminal 2, which has mind-bending woven patterns and tasteful use of light and dark contrasts that make it look more like a science fiction movie.
8.China’s Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport

The manta ray served as the inspiration for this airport’s model, according to architect Massimiliano Fuksas. Due to its towering, cavernous form, entering it gives you the impression that you are inside the beast. Its exterior’s honeycomb design, which is exquisitely detailed and somewhat of an optical illusion, lends it an animalistic appearance as well.
9. Tibet’s Daocheng Yading Airport

This airport is just stunning and very high. At 4,411 meters, it is the highest airport that non-military personnel may reach. The views are insane (if you’re afraid of heights, this might not be your favorite), but if you can handle it, what a vista among the clouds!
