Knee arthritis may be the cause. Leaning on one leg is impossible if a person walks unsteadily. A person can occasionally become unbalanced, especially if the knee becomes “locked.” This poses a serious risk since the knee may “lock” at an inopportune time, causing the person to lose their balance and suffer injuries. A doctor should evaluate the knee if you walk unsteadily.
