3. Less acid reflux

What a pain heartburn is. Eating before bed may have this impact since lying on your stomach may make it easier for stomach acid to enter your esophagus. It’s interesting that sleeping on your left side will reduce heartburn, while sleeping on your right side can make it worse. It might be because our bodies’ left sides are where our stomachs are located. The stomach-esophagus junction is kept above the level of stomach acid when we lie on our left side. However, the lower esophageal sphincter is slack on the right side and may allow acid to pass through.
