In the grocery store, we select nutritious foods in the hopes of finding something beneficial for our family and ourselves. However, studies demonstrate that even common foods can be harmful. We have compiled a list of foods that are bad for your health and discovered strategies to avoid the problems while still enjoying all the delicious foods you adore.
1. Lettuce

The Centre for Science in the Public Interest’s scientists have studied statistics for the previous 12 years. They were attempting to determine which foods caused the most instances of food poisoning. The winner was revealed to be lettuce. 13,568 reported instances of poisoning were associated with 363 outbreaks that were caused by it. Therefore, even when lettuce is well-packaged and “ready to eat,” it is still best to give it a thorough wash before placing it on your plate.
2. Eggs

Salmonella contamination of eggs from contaminated chicken manure can be deadly, especially for kids, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. If the egg shell is not completely clean, it is preferable to wash the egg for one minute before preparing scrambled eggs for the entire family.
3. Chicken

There are enough Campylobacter bacteria in one drop of raw chicken flesh liquid to infect an individual. The bacterial infection produces a fever and digestive problems. Because the bacterium gets on our hands, apron, counters, etc. as we wash the meat, it spreads quickly. To be safe, avoid touching raw chicken, wash the cutting board and knives separately from the rest of your dishes (we even advise boiling the water), and limit your exposure to raw meat.
4. Tuna

Scombrotoxin, a poisonous protein, is created when fish is improperly defrosted and stored. It may result in a particular kind of food poisoning that results in skin rashes, vomiting, stomach pains, diarrhoea, an elevated heart rate, and possibly vision loss. The remedy is to defrost tuna away from any contact with air. Without opening the pack, remove it from the freezer and place it on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. It will take roughly 24 hours for a 4-pound fish to defrost.
5. Cheese

Cheeses don’t contain any hazardous ingredients; however, they can become contaminated with poisonous pathogenic microbes at any point during the production process. If the unpasteurized milk of sick animals is used during production, there is a chance that you will contract brucellosis and listeriosis. To avoid this, only purchase cheese from reputable suppliers.
6. Ground meat

Ground meat has been discovered to contain E. coli, salmonella, listeria, and the remnants of antimicrobial medicines. Therefore, it is preferable to cut the meat into thin, flat slices and fry them.
7. Soda

The impact soda has on your bones is another reason you should stop drinking it, in addition to obesity and liver damage. Coke and soda both contain phosphoric acid, which lowers bone mineral density (BMD) and eventually causes osteoporosis.
