David Dalquist, a renowned food scientist well known for establishing Nordic Ware, invented the bundt pan in 1950. With this pan, the Minneapolis-based cookware manufacturer was onto something, since bundt cakes rose to popularity as desserts in the 1950s and, particularly, the 1960s.
