The most absurd thunderstorm picture ever taken.

Researchers are only now starting to examine the intricate connection between lightning and tornadoes. Although there is frequently visible air-to-ground lighting during thunderstorms, lightning strikes tend to reduce during tornado outbreaks. That does not negate the possibility of lightning occurring. As this picture illustrates, there is actually a lot of lightning; it is merely air-to-air or cloud-to-cloud lightning. This kind of lightning is not considered a lightning strike because it never touches the ground. This indicates that lightning energy is remaining in the clouds, causing tornadoes to intensify.
