Although they appear false, morning glory clouds are a genuine and uncommon weather phenomena that can only be somewhat predicted to occur in Northern Australia’s southern Gulf of Carpentaria. Low-level atmospheric waves that grow into a sequence of waves or rolls are what give rise to morning glory clouds. Visitors to Burketown, where this picture was taken, can frequently view these unusual morning glory clouds from late September to early November. The sight of these unusual cloud formations really draws tourists, meteorologists, nature photographers, and glider pilots to the area.
