One of the five Great Lakes, Lake Michigan, is just off the coast of Chicago and has a significant role on the weather patterns of the city. Lake Michigan, the only Great Lake wholly contained within the United States and the third biggest overall, is actually a sizable freshwater sea. The enormous volume of water fueled and exacerbated thunderstorms. Because to their perfect timing, the photographer captured multiple lightning bolts in the lake in one stunning picture.
