Only over the Catatumbo River in Venezuela does catatumbo lightning occur.

Google is the source
The mouth of the Catatumbo River in Venezuela is the only place on Earth where an uncommon atmospheric phenomenon occurs. Around 140 to 160 evenings a year witness this amazing display of lightning, which can last up to ten hours and produce around 250 strikes every hour. Storms that gather energy from winds blowing across Maracaibo Lake and the bogs surrounding the lake are the source of the lightning. Because the region is surrounded by mountains on three sides, the air masses are compelled to ascend, accumulating electrical charges along the route. Of all the places on Earth, this one in Venezuela has the most consistent lightning activity.
