I’m glad the Megalodon is no longer alive! With such enormous sharks cruising the coast, nobody would go into the sea. As evidenced by this picture, the megalodon was large—really, gigantic! The megalodon had a biting force of more than 40,000 pounds and could grow to be almost 60 feet long. Frequently regarded as one of the biggest and most formidable predators to have ever existed on Earth, the monster shark is fortunately a thing of the past. The species is thought to have gone extinct around the end of the Pliocene epoch.
