Ethiopia

The traditional attire for an Ethiopian bride is a “habesha kemis.” This garment is made of cotton fabric and is handcrafted. It reaches the ankles. It frequently has lovely patterns with multicoloured and gold accents weaved into hem. The “kaba” jacket is a required component of the wedding ceremony for both the bride and groom, regardless of whether the bride selects a classic white bridal gown or a more contemporary one. The jacket can be long or short, resembling the train of a wedding gown, and is embroidered in gold or silver.
