15. Prevent shoe polish staining.

The goal is to prevent stains from shoe polish from appearing on skin and surfaces during application.
Accidental stains on skin or adjacent surfaces are frequently caused by cleaning shoes. But if you use Vaseline, you can prevent these accidents from happening. Before polishing, apply a small amount of Vaseline to the margins of your shoes, paying particular attention to the areas where the skin and shoe contact.
