13. Create a Garden Apron Out of Old Jeans



Supplies required: scissors, worn-out jeans

You don’t have to discard an old pair of jeans just because they’re too tiny or frayed. Instead, use the jeans to make a gardening apron. This doesn’t require sewing. Trim the waistline to the side seam beneath it, leaving the band whole. The back pocket area should be dangling from the waistband when you’re finished.
When gardening, you can store your tools in your pockets. If the waistline is too short, trim it and lengthen it with more fabric or ribbon. Recall that the only requirements are that it be practical and not ostentatious.
