There is an uncommon way to obtain water through security without breaching the rules if you don’t want to spend a lot of money purchasing standard water at the airport. If the ice in a bottle of water doesn’t melt, you can freeze it at home and pass the bottle through customs. The US Department of Homeland Security’s official website makes a formal recommendation regarding this.
