5. Solar System Interstellar Object
Found Year: 2017.
It was found by Karen Meech.
Where: Solar System
Something that is not native to the galaxy it currently resides in is known as an interstellar object. There have never before been any reports of anything observed visiting our galaxy from beyond the Milky Way. Then, in 2017, a group of Hawaiian researchers witnessed an object the size of a football pitch racing through space.

The team only needed to look at its trajectory and sporadic outbursts to conclude that the object was not in the Sun’s orbit. There is no way to identify the object, which is currently travelling towards Neptune, but some astronomers speculate that it may be an extraterrestrial spaceship dispatched to explore distant planets.
